Indiana State University announced that they joined forces with Ivy Tech Community College Wabash Valley to provide a more convenient online program for nurses to complete their education. Their joined online nursing program will greatly benefit the practicing licensed practical nurses.
Under this pilot program, the LPN or licensed practical nurses that completed the practical nursing program at Ivy Tech will be able to transfer all their applicable credit to Indiana State to complete and earn their bachelor’s degree in nursing.
The combined ISU-Ivy Tech online nursing programs are composed of two phases that include 30 online lower division general education credit hours from Ivy Tech and 84 online hours of baccalaureate-level nursing courses through Indiana State University. All these courses are offered online with clinical courses arranged in the student’s home community.
Completing a nursing degree via these bridged programs will grant graduate nurses an eligibility to apply for licensure examination and become as a registered nurse. This partnership likewise addresses the growing demands for nurses in the United States.
